Pharmacists licensed in another state will no longer have to clear an additional examination requirement to be licensed in Indiana, under a bill (SB0293) signed by the governor on March 4 as Public Law 140. New applicants from any state must still pass the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination, the bill makes that explicit.
The measure voids or requires the amendment of certain Indiana administrative rules to align with the new statute and makes technical changes throughout.
Sen. Buchanan was primary sponsor. The Senate passed the bill 48-0 on January 28 and the House 97-0 on February 23. The Senate concurred with House amendments 45-2 on February 25. Ten additional legislators signed on as sponsors.
