A House bill (HB169) has been signed into law by the Governor, requiring insurance companies to provide coverage for feeding and eating disorders.

The legislation, titled "AN ACT relating to coverage for feeding or eating disorders," mandates that health insurance policies cover treatments for conditions such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge-eating disorder. The bill aims to ensure that individuals with these conditions have access to necessary medical care without facing financial barriers.

The bill was chiefly sponsored by Representative K. Fleming of District 48, with seven co-sponsors including B. Chester-Burton and D. Grossberg. It passed both chambers unanimously before being signed into law on April 12, 2026.

HB169 has been enrolled and signed by the Speaker of the House and the President of the Senate and was then delivered to the Governor for final approval. The bill is now law as Chapter 101 of the Acts of the 2026 Regular Session.
