Governor signs psychiatric collaborative care model act into law

A House bill that establishes a new psychiatric collaborative care model has been signed into law by Governor Beshear. The legislation, titled "AN ACT relating to the psychiatric collaborative care model," aims to improve mental health services through enhanced collaboration between healthcare providers.

The chief sponsor of HB178 is Representative K. Moser from District 64, with co-authors B. McCool and D. Grossberg. The bill passed unanimously in both the House and Senate before being signed into law.

HB178 has now been enrolled and signed by Governor Beshear, making it official state law as Chapter 103 of the Acts of 2026. The legislation will take effect immediately to enhance psychiatric care through collaborative models among healthcare professionals.
