Kentucky Governor signs Medicaid appropriation bill into law
A House bill (HB2) has been signed into law, providing additional funding for Medicaid programs in Kentucky.
The legislation, titled "AN ACT relating to Medicaid, making an appropriation therefor and declaring an emergency," allocates new funds to support the state's Medicaid program. The bill aims to enhance healthcare services by increasing financial resources available under the Medicaid umbrella.
Chief sponsor Representative K. Fleming, along with co-authors D. Osborne and J. Hodgson, led the effort to pass this critical funding measure. The bill garnered support from four additional co-sponsors.
The Governor signed HB2 into law after it passed both chambers of the Kentucky General Assembly. It has now been enrolled and delivered to the Secretary of State (Acts Ch. 179), completing its legislative journey and becoming effective immediately as declared in the emergency clause.
