Kentucky will count more healthcare credentials toward eligibility for the state's healthcare workforce investment fund, the program that helps cover training costs for in-demand medical jobs. Gov. Andy Beshear signed House Bill 266 into law on April 2.
HB266 passed both chambers without a single no vote. The House cleared the bill 95-0 on Feb. 8. The Senate followed with a 38-0 vote on March 24, sending it to the governor's desk.
Rep. Griffee is the primary sponsor. The bill drew bipartisan co-sponsorship from Republican Reps. Doan, Grossl, King, McCool and Thomas alongside Democratic Rep. Willner.
