A House bill (HB305) aimed at reforming grand jury service in Kentucky has been signed into law by the Governor. The legislation, titled "AN ACT relating to grand jury service," seeks to update and clarify procedures for grand jury selection and service.

The bill makes several changes to ensure that grand juries are more representative of the community they serve. It also aims to streamline the process and provide clearer guidelines for jurors and legal professionals involved in grand jury proceedings.

Chief sponsor C. Massaroni, along with co-authors B. Chester-Burton and D. Grossberg, led the effort to pass this legislation. The bill received broad support, moving through both chambers without significant opposition.

The Governor signed HB305 into law on April 12, 2026, following its passage in both the House and Senate. The bill has now been enrolled and awaits implementation as part of Kentucky's legal framework for grand jury service.
