A House bill that aims to update forcible entry and detainer laws has moved to the Senate Committee on Committees after passing through multiple readings in the House. The legislation seeks to clarify and modernize procedures for evictions, aiming to provide clearer guidelines for landlords and tenants.
HB338, titled "AN ACT relating to forcible entry and detainer," was introduced by Chief Sponsor S. Witten of District 31. The bill has garnered support from 16 co-sponsors, including A. Donworth and B. Chester-Burton.
The bill has now been returned to the Senate Committee on Committees for further review following its passage in the House. If approved by the committee, it will proceed through additional readings in the Senate before potentially reaching the Governor's desk.
