Kentucky Governor signs post-traumatic stress disorder treatment act for veterans into law
A House bill aimed at improving veteran treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder has been signed into law by Governor Beshear. The legislation, known as HB369, seeks to enhance support and resources available to veterans suffering from PTSD.
HB369, titled "AN ACT relating to veteran treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder," aims to provide comprehensive care and services to veterans dealing with the effects of PTSD. This includes expanding access to mental health professionals and ensuring that veterans receive timely and appropriate medical attention.
The bill was sponsored by Representative S. Sharp from District 100, with additional support from seven co-sponsors including A. Moore and B. Chester-Burton. The legislation has now been signed into law after passing both chambers of the Kentucky General Assembly without opposition.
With the Governor's signature, HB369 has become law and will take effect immediately to provide enhanced treatment options for veterans with PTSD.
