Governor signs act relating to Kentucky fire commission into law

A House bill (HB419) that relates to the Kentucky Fire Commission has been signed into law by Governor Beshear.

The legislation, titled "AN ACT relating to the Kentucky Fire Commission," aims to enhance the operations and responsibilities of the Kentucky Fire Commission. It includes provisions for better coordination between state fire agencies and improved training standards for firefighters.

Sponsored by Representative S. Miles from District 7, the bill has five co-sponsors including B. Wesley and D. Grossberg. The legislation received unanimous support throughout its journey through both chambers.

The bill has now been signed into law after passing both the House and Senate with overwhelming support. It was enrolled and delivered to the Governor on March 31, 2026 and has since been signed, making it official state law.
