A House bill (HB78) has been signed into law, providing new protections for firearms liability in Kentucky.

The legislation, titled "AN ACT relating to firearms liability protections and declaring an emergency," aims to shield firearm manufacturers, distributors and sellers from certain lawsuits related to the misuse of their products. The bill declares an emergency clause, indicating immediate implementation upon signing.

Chief sponsor Representative T. Roberts, along with co-sponsor D. Elliott and other supporters, championed the bill through both chambers. The bill has garnered significant backing, with ten additional co-sponsors listed.

The Governor signed HB78 into law on April 13, following its passage in both the House and Senate. The bill was enrolled and signed by the Speaker of the House and the President of the Senate before being delivered to the Secretary of State (Acts Ch. 177).
