Senate bill relating to energy planning commission signed into law
A Senate bill that aims to reform the Energy Planning and Inventory Commission has been signed into law by Governor Beshear. The legislation, known as SB100, seeks to enhance oversight and transparency within the commission.
The bill, titled "AN ACT relating to the Energy Planning and Inventory Commission and declaring an emergency," was authored by Senator R. Mills of District 104 and co-sponsored by two other legislators including G. Elkins and M. Deneen.
SB100 has been enrolled and signed into law after being passed by both chambers of the Kentucky General Assembly. The Senate initially passed the bill with a vote of 32-6, followed by the House's approval with a vote of 79-18. After Governor Beshear vetoed the bill, it was overridden in both chambers and it has now been officially signed into law.
