Governor signs Senate bill into law relating to property disposition
A Senate bill (SB50) has been signed into law by the Governor, providing new guidelines for the disposition of property in Kentucky. The legislation, titled "AN ACT relating to the disposition of property," aims to clarify and streamline the process for transferring ownership and managing various types of property.
The bill was sponsored by Senator B. Storm from District 121, with co-author R. Stivers. It passed through both chambers with significant support, ultimately receiving the Governor's signature on April 12, 2026.
SB50 has been signed into law and is now effective as Acts Ch. 134. The legislation has cleared all legislative hurdles and has been enrolled, signed by the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House before being delivered to and signed by the Governor.
