Minnesota House passes bill restricting state-funded entities from political spending
A House bill (HF72) has passed through the Minnesota House of Representatives and is now headed to the Senate for consideration. The legislation prohibits entities or organizations that receive state funding from making campaign expenditures or expending money for any political purpose.
The chief sponsor of the bill is Representative Engen, with 11 co-sponsors including Allen and Altendorf. The measure aims to prevent state-funded groups from engaging in political activities, ensuring that public funds are not used for partisan purposes.
Having passed through the House, HF72 will now be considered by the Senate Elections committee before it can advance further in the legislative process.
