Senate bill advancing professional development requirements moves to House

A Senate bill (SF334) that seeks to modify implementation professional development requirements for educators has advanced from the Senate and is now moving to the House for further consideration.

The Read Act Implementation Professional Development Requirements Modification aims to update the training programs required for teachers and other education professionals, ensuring they are equipped with the latest methods and resources to support student learning effectively.

Chief author of the bill is Senator Maye Quade. The bill has seven co-sponsors, including Clardy and Coleman.

Now that SF334 has passed through the Senate, it will be reviewed by a House committee before proceeding for further action in the House.
