Minnesota SF 3891 presented to governor after unanimous House passage
By Alex Smith
Minnesota Senate File 3891 has passed both chambers of the Legislature and was presented to the governor on May 20, 2026. The bill would allow the donation of eggs past their quality assurance date, according to its title.
The bill was sponsored by Sen. Maye Quade along with seven co-sponsors. The House passed the measure on May 16, 2026, by a vote of 133-0. The bill moved through the House after an identical companion bill led to SF 3891 being substituted onto the General Register on May 14, 2026, followed by a second reading and placement on the Calendar for the Day before its third reading and passage (source: https://openstates.org/mn/bills/2025-2026/SF3891/).
The bill is now before the governor, who may sign or veto it.
