Minnesota HF 2484 presented to governor after passing both chambers

By Alex Smith

Minnesota House File 2484 has passed both chambers of the Legislature and was presented to the governor on May 20, 2026. The bill is a bonding measure that would authorize spending to acquire and improve land and buildings, fund other capital improvements, establish new programs, modify existing ones, and appropriate money across state government.

The bill was sponsored by Rep. Lee, F., along with two co-sponsors. Floor action on May 17, 2026, included a failed amendment vote of 66-67, followed by a motion to lay the bill on the table, a motion that prevailed, and a subsequent motion to take it from the table before the bill was amended, given a third reading as amended and reported to the House. It was then presented to the governor three days later (source: https://openstates.org/mn/bills/2025-2026/HF2484/).

The bill now awaits action by the governor, who may sign or veto it.
