Minnesota HF 4138 has passed both chambers of the Legislature and was presented to the governor on May 20, 2026. The bill would establish requirements for social media platforms regarding accounts held by minors and create enforcement mechanisms for regulations governing those accounts.
The bill was sponsored by Representative Scott along with 19 co-sponsors. The House repassed the bill as amended by the Senate on May 16, 2026, by a vote of 131 to 2.
