Source: the Officer Down Memorial Page. Counts cover officers serving Minnesota agencies whose end of watch fell in 2005through 2026, K9 records excluded. Per-million uses 2020 Census population.
COVID-19 and 9/11-related illness are excluded from the headline figures because ODMP counts both as line of duty and each is a one-time-event tail. COVID dominated 2020 and 2021. The 9/11 cancers concentrate in New York for a 2001 event. Toggle either back on in the charts. Other illness such as heart attacks stays in.
